For more than a decade, the Best of Marshfield Area survey has asked residents and visitors alike to vote for their favorite Marshfield businesses, attractions, and events in an effort to spread awareness of some of central Wisconsin’s best offerings. Here’s a look at the most recent winners to give you some ideas on where to go during your next visit.

Food & Drink

Nutz Deep II has been welcoming Marshfield locals and visitors alike with great food, drinks, and atmosphere for years, and it’s consistently a favorite among Best of Marshfield voters, too. In the latest poll, the bar & grill on Central Avenue in downtown Marshfield took home awards for Best Bar Food, Best Burger, Best Fish Fry, and Best Bartender/Server.

Breakfast fans shouldn’t miss the spread at Melody Gardens Restaurant, which took the top spot in the Breakfast category. Melody Gardens opens at 6am every day, and they serve breakfast all day—diners can choose from omelets, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, and more.

MoJo’s Pasta House & Cajun Cook Shack was named best Lunch spot—this downtown eatery makes all its meals fresh from scratch, including their own homemade pasta. Here you’ll find Cajun food, pasta dishes, and many other unique offerings.

Enjoy authentic Mexican food at El Mezcal on Central Avenue just northeast of downtown Marshfield. El Mezcal, which took first place in the Ethnic Food category, serves up classic Mexican dishes, unique takes on old favorites and more.

Looking for a place to take the family? Head to Buck-A-Neer Supper Club, which was the fans’ top pick in the Family Dining category. Located in nearby Stratford, the Buck-A-Neer is a longtime central Wisconsin institution and is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday.

And for dessert—or even just a midday treat—check out Hub City Ice Cream Company, which topped the field in Sweet Treats.

Fun & Attractions

Marshfield is home to lots of fun festivals and attractions, too, and the Best of Marshfield voters shared their favorites in those categories—Escape Room Marshfield was tops for Family Entertainment, and Wildwood Park & Zoo earned the #1 spot in Visitor Attraction.

As for events, Maple Fall Fest was named the top Festival and Wenzel Family Plaza (and its summer concert series) was selected as the best spot for Live Music.

Visitors looking for a great local retailer should check out the Good Day Sunshine Record Shop, which was selected as the top Downtown Shop to Recommend to Visitors.
