Fall Family Festival @ Mead Wildlife Area

The Fall Family Festival will be held on Sunday, September 12th from 12-2pm. Come celebrate at the Mead Wildlife Area. Audubon members and students from Dr. Perry Cook’s UWSP Science Methods classes will help with a variety of “hands on” craft and nature activities including building a bird feeder. A picture guide of common feeder birds in this area will also be provided. There will be a Monarch butterfly tagging event at 1:00 PM. Participants can also take a (guided) wild flower walk. Participants can also explore the nature trails, the boardwalk, observation decks and “Green Energy” Visitors Center. Snacks will be provided and picnic tables are available if you want to bring a sack lunch. The event is co-sponsored by the Aldo Leopold Audubon Society and Friends of the Mead/McMillan Association.
